MORGAN COUNTY — A truck driver was seriously injured and his load of sunflower seeds was spilled Monday morning when his rig drifted off Colorado 52 south of Wiggins and rolled, said Sgt. John Hahn of the Colorado State Patrol.
The driver, Larry Campbell, 60, of Keenesburg, was trapped in the wreckage before being freed and airlifted to a Greeley hospital.
Hahn said the International truck traveled 540 feet through a field before rolling. He said investigators do not know what caused the crash.
The truck’s load of sunflower seeds was dumped in a field, Hahn said.
The sergeant said Campbell was ticketed for careless driving.
