GRAND JUNCTION — A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Grand Junction on Sunday afternoon, police say.
No names had been released.
Grand Junction police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at the Timbers Motel on North Avenue about 2:20 p.m., said police spokeswoman Kate Porras.
Police Chief John Camper told NBC 11 News in Grand Junction that the man involved in the dispute with his family pulled out a knife and was shot in the doorway of his motel room.
Witnesses told the TV station they heard two shots and that the dead man’s wife and son were nearby at the time.
