GRAND JUNCTION — The Thunderwolves (17-10) sprinted to a 17-9 lead and held on to spring the big upset of the Shootout’s quarterfinals.
The Mavericks (22-5), ranked No. 23 in Division II and the No. 1 seed in the RMAC’s West Division, rallied to take a 32-29 halftime lead, setting up a back-and-forth second half.
Marc Williams’ jumper at the 5:55 mark gave CSU- Pueblo a 61-51 lead, and the Thunderwolves would not let Mesa State get its offense going in the final minutes.

The Roadrunners (22-6) started the game on a 25-12 run, thanks to eight Mountain Lions (11-17) turnovers, then had a 12-0 run early in the second half to complete the rout at the Auraria Event Center.

GOLDEN — Daniel Lemburg’s 3-pointer with 3:39 left in overtime gave the Cougars a lead they would not relinquish.
Mines tied the game with four seconds left in regulation on Gordon Galloway’s layup.

Metro State 55, Colorado Mines 51
GOLDEN — The Roadrunners (17-11) completed a comeback from a 16-point halftime deficit, taking their first lead with one minute left on Jasmine Cervantes’ jumper.
Emily Wood’s two free throws followed with 43 seconds left. Cervantes and Le- andra Sands completed the comeback by going 4-of-4 at the charity stripe in the last 13 seconds to upset Mines (20-8).
Colorado Christian 65, Nebraska-Kearney 59
LAKEWOOD — Juanise Cornell led three Cougars in double figures with 17 points in a hard-fought defensive game.
Colorado Christian shot only 37.5 percent for the game, but held the Lopers to 34.4 percent shooting.

DURANGO — Abby Jackson’s 3-pointer with four seconds left allowed the Skyhawks, seeded No. 1 in the West, to avoid the upset.
