COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Kyle Ostrow had two goals and Denver raced out to a six-goal lead before settling for a 7-3 Western Collegiate Hockey Association win over Colorado College on Saturday.

The top-ranked Pioneers (25-7-4, 19-5-4 WCHA) play host to Michigan Tech in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. Colorado College plays at Minnesota-Duluth.

Denver took a 6-0 lead midway through the second period. The Tigers (18-15-3, 12-13-3) also lost goalie Joe Howe to injury after giving up three goals. Howe was replaced by Tyler O’Brien, who allowed four goals.

Matt Glasser, Jesse Martin, Brian Gifford, Joe Colborne and Rhett Rakhshani also scored for the Pioneers.

Mike Testwuide scored twice and Tyler Johnson once for Colorado College.
