An Army Sergeant based out of Fort Carson has been arrested on suspicion of being an Internet predator.
Brian Kelly Wells, 28, of Colorado Springs, was wearing his military uniform Wednesday when he showed up at a home in Adams County where he planned to meet an “underage girl” for a sexual encounter, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Instead of corresponding over the Internet with a girl, however, Wells had been communicating with an undercover deputy.
When Wells knocked on the door, it was answered by detectives who arrested him without incident.
Wells was held on suspicion of Internet luring of a child, Internet sexual exploitation of a child, and attempted sexual assault on a child, according to the sheriff’s office.
Wells was held at the Adams County Jail until Thursday when he was turned over to military police.
