ADAMS COUNTY — A team of Adams County law enforcement officers on Monday served a search warrant on an apartment and arrested a 25-year-old resident on charges he wounded a sheriff’s deputy Saturday night.
Deputies had gone to the apartment complex on a disturbance call when a barrage of shots was fired, hitting one deputy. The officers retreated but did not return fire, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The wounded deputy was treated and released from a hospital that night.
Monday afternoon, deputies arrested a resident of the complex, Sergio Gomez-Estrada, on suspicion of attempted murder of a peace officer and first-degree assault.
