TUCSON, Ariz.—Rockies closer Huston Street felt discomfort in his right shoulder and will undergo an MRI.
Street has been hampered by inflammation in his pitching shoulder and has yet to throw in an exhibition. He threw about 25 pitches Monday and said afterward that his arm “felt great” but felt discomfort during his throwing session the next day.
Street signed a $22.5 million, three-year deal in January after saving 35 of 37 games for the Rockies last season.
Colorado’s bullpen also includes Rafael Betancourt, Manuel Corpas, Matt Belisle, Randy Flores and Franklin Morales. Betancourt has also been bothered by an inflamed shoulder.
Utility infielder Omar Quintanilla sprained his left knee in a game Tuesday and will have an MRI on Thursday.
