Getting your player ready...

DALLAS — Two days ago, Ty Lawson went on a mile run in the afternoon before the Orlando game, knowing his fatigue factor wouldn’t matter much that night because he probably wasn’t going to get on the court.

And he was right.

The speedy guard did not play against the Magic. On Monday, however, Lawson got back on the court — as coach Adrian Dantley promised before the contest. Expect to see more of Lawson in the future.

The fact is, it has been difficult for Dantley to find minutes for Lawson lately, given how well Anthony Carter has played over the last two to three weeks as reserve point guard. But as the losses piled up, there was more clamoring to get Lawson minutes, and Dantley pointed at himself as the reason the rookie guard has watched more often than participated over the last week since returning from an injured shoulder.

“It’s just that before he got hurt, he was great,” Dantley said. “(Then) A.C. was playing good. I just gotta make a decision that I’m going to have to play one or the other. I’m a firm believer that it’s very difficult to play five guards. And that’s what some people want me to do. I’m just going to have to get him out there, just get his feet wet.”

Before Monday night’s game, Lawson played a total of 11 minutes — eight at Boston, three at Toronto — since being available for duty March 20.

No green reprise.

The NBA is doing its annual “Green Week” this week, but don’t expect the Nuggets to wear green uniforms as they did last season. The uniforms, which were made of 45 percent organic cotton, are not in the plans this year. The Nuggets will, however, have NBA Green Week logo patches on their uniforms this week.
