DENVER—A Colorado woman accused of driving drunk and causing a taxi crash that killed two Connecticut librarians told police after the crash she had a “NyQuil addiction.”
Sandra Jacobson is on trial for the deaths last year of two women on their way to Denver’s airport after a library convention. Jacobson had a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit after the crash and told police, “I have a small NyQuil addiction.”
Jurors heard that videotaped statement Thursday. Jacobson’s lawyers in her vehicular homicide trial have said Jacobson was sober at the time of the wreck but downed a banana schnapps drink after arriving at the airport.
Jacobson argues that a dog in her truck caused her to swerve and that she didn’t know she’d hit the taxi.
