Many state and city of Denver offices will be closed today because of cost-saving furloughs.
For Denver, it is first of five planned furlough days this year. Denver public libraries, city recreation centers and the mayor’s office will be closed. Denver International Airport will be open, and police and firefighters will be on duty.
Also today, Colorado driver’s license offices and other state offices will be closed for the seventh of eight unpaid furlough days this fiscal year.
State parks will be open today, but the visitor centers will be closed. It’s also business as usual for state troopers, state hospitals and nursing homes, the unemployment benefits office, legislature and courts. The Denver Post
