Prosecutors named Randy Steven Keesee, 43, of Aurora on Monday as the man wounded by police after allegedly robbing Central City’s Famous Bonanza Casino on Saturday afternoon.
Keesee remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound, but prosecutors said they expect to arrest him today. Bail is expected to be set at $1 million, they said.
The shooting happened about two hours after the casino was robbed of about $28,000 in $100 and $50 bills, according to an arrest affidavit released Monday. Keesee was shot after allegedly pointing a pistol at an officer in a casino parking garage in Black Hawk.
The officer approached Keesee when he saw a yellow straw fedora similar to one that the robber was reportedly wearing. A bag with cash was found in the trunk of Keesee’s car, police said.
