Boulder-based First Descents camps for young adults with cancer is hosting the Climbing for Cancer Challenge on Saturday to raise funds for the new climbing camps added to its schedule. Individuals or teams of two are invited to compete in the climb-athon, which will benefit the nonprofit organization that provides outdoor adventure therapy for cancer patients.
Participants are asked to raise donations based on the number of vertical feet they climb from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at either the Boulder Rock Club in Boulder () or Rock’n & Jam’n in Thornton (). Admission to the gyms is free to participants, and there are prizes for those who climb the most and raise the most money.
