On Monday there was a protest over an April Fools’ Day edition of the UC Denver student newspaper, Advocate.

Several articles in the issue last week, marked as jokes, contained terms and ideas some students thought were racially insensitive. Editors of the paper met with some students and wrote in response, “As a work of satire, it was intended to parody those hurtful and ignorant views, not foster them.”
