A bicyclist collided with an RTD bus pulling out from the Lafayette Park-N-Ride onto South Public Road tonight.

The man, described only as a 43-year-old resident of Lafayette, was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center after the collision at 9:46 p.m., said Lafayette Police Sgt. Fred Palmer.

The man’s condition was not known at midnight.

The incident comes after two fatal bus crashes in Denver and Aurora on Saturday and Monday.

Palmer said the collision happened in the intersection of South Public Road and City Center Circle, but it was too early to say whether the bus driver, who has not been identified, will be charged.

Regional Transportation Director spokesman Scott Reed did not return calls for comment this evening.
