The Rapids on Wednesday traded for forward Quincy Amarikwa from San Jose, giving up a a second-round pick in the 2012 MLS draft.
Amarikwa notched a goal and two assists in 25 games for San Jose. This season, his second as a pro, he played seven minutes as a reserve in the Earthquakes season-opener against Real Salt Lake.
The Rapids also placed two players on the injured reserve list: Ciaran O’Brien (left hip sprain) and forward Ross Schunk (torn ACL in right knee).
