GOLDEN, Colo.—An 18-year-old Evergreen man accused of killing his sister faces charges of first-degree murder, sexual assault and robbery.
Zachariah Thomas Santaguida was formally charged during a hearing Thursday in Jefferson County Court. He is being held without bond in the death of 24-year-old Elizabeth “Libby” Santaguida.
He’s next due in court June 25 for a preliminary hearing.
His sister was found dead last week in their home in the foothills west of Denver. Authorities say preliminary autopsy results indicate she was strangled with a cord.
Pam Russell, a spokeswoman for the Jefferson County district attorney’s office, says the brother and sister weren’t biologically related, but declined to elaborate.
