WESTMINSTER, Colo.—Classes at a Colorado high school were canceled and students were searched for weapons and sent home after administrators found an online threat.
A spokesman for the Adams County School District would not release details of the threat at Westminster High School, including whether administrators found it on a social networking site or blog.
Officials locked down the school and called for extra law enforcement at around 7 a.m. Wednesday, about an hour after students arrived for first period.
Spokesman Jason Kosena says sheriff’s deputies found nothing suspicious at the school after a search and classes will resume Thursday. There are no suspects.
The threat comes a day after the 11th anniversary of the deadly shootings at Columbine High School.
Westminster is about 12 miles north of Denver.
