NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Top-selling Christian rock act Casting Crowns has won artist of the year at the 41st annual Dove Awards.
The band had its five-year run as group of the year snapped earlier Wednesday evening by NeedToBreathe but came away with the Doves’ biggest award, voted on by fans.
Fans also voted for new artist of the year winner Sidewalk Prophets.
NeedToBreathe was the big winner with three Doves, including rock/contemporary album of the year for “The Outsiders” and rock/contemporary song for “Lay ‘Em Down.” The ceremony will air Sunday on GMC. The Associated Press
