ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—The Denver Broncos have selected cornerback Syd’Quan Thompson from Cal in the seventh round of the NFL draft.
The Broncos didn’t own a seventh-round selection but traded a fifth-rounder in 2011 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their two seventh-round picks. Those selections are the 225th and 232nd overall.
Thompson started all 52 games possible over his four-year college career but a tight hamstring kept him from playing in the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Game.
