Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, let’s be honest: We thought you had snubbed us when you announced a summer tour that didn’t include a Red Rocks stop. But we spoke too soon, since this week you announced a June 3 show there with opener Joe Cocker. In fact, Red Rocks is now the kickoff of your national tour, so you should be well rested for that legendary stage. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($49.50-$105, Ticketmaster)

“American Idol Live!” will bring out the top 10 finalists from the show’s ninth season for a national tour, including an Aug. 23 stop at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. May 15. Check back here or denverpost for prices. ()

Sting has added a second show to his June 9 Red Rocks visit with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, to be conducted by famed maestro Steven Mercurio. Tickets for the just-announced June 10 concert are on sale at 10 a.m. Monday. ($50.50-$180.50, Ticketmaster)

Melissa Etheridge played Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest in Fort Collins last year, but she’ll make a Denver stop this time around with an Aug. 17 concert at the Buell Theatre. Passes for the folksy singer-songwriter’s concert are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($35-$100, Ticketmaster)

50 Cent will play a series of “intimate” shows in the U.S. following his two-month European tour supporting new album “Before I Self Destruct” — including a June 1 set at the Fillmore Auditorium, with G-Unit pal Lloyd Banks. Tickets for “The Invitation” tour are on sale. ($37.50- $40, )

Blues Traveler plans to reprise its long-running role as Fourth of July House Band at Red Rocks (with the unfortunately-named openers Rebelution). A limited number of $25 general admission tickets are available this weekend, with the public on-sale on at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($25-$39.75, Ticketmaster)

Reggae on the Rocks returns to Red Rocks on Aug. 28 featuring performances from Steel Pulse, Israel Vibration, DubSkin, Judge Roughneck and more.
