Now that Sandra Bullock has filed for divorce from Jesse James, the Oscar-winning actress is speaking out about the man she once knew.
Bullock says she was utterly shocked when she first saw the infamous photo of her soon-to-be ex-husband posing in Nazi regalia.
“This is not the man I married,” she told People magazine.
The 2004 photo features the biker wearing a German soldier’s hat, with one hand making his mustache and the other giving a “Heil, Hitler” salute.
Though the image was received in poor taste, attorney Joe Yanny said that the hat was given to James as a gag gift by his Jewish godfather.
“The photo shocked me and made me sad,” Bullock told People. “This was stupid, this was ignorant. Racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, homophobia, anything Nazi and a boatload of other things have no place in my life.”
She adds, “And the man I married felt the same.”
Responding to the divorce filing, James says he’s left with “a huge hole in my heart.” But it would be selfish not to let her go, James said in a statement.
Bullock filed divorce papers in Austin, Texas, where Bullock has a home.
Justin Bieber is pleading with fans to simmer down after his mother was trampled on by a herd of about 500 waiting to greet him as he arrived in New Zealand Tuesday.
“Finally got to New Zealand last night,” the singer, 16, Twittered to his 2 million followers. “The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people…”
He said he wants to be able “to sign and take pics and meet my fans but if you are all pushing security won’t let me. Let’s keep it safe and have fun.”
He joked, “I AM THE MOST DANGEROUS CREATURE HERE!!”
His mother, Pattie Mallette, was not injured. “Thanks for all your support!!” she Twittered. “I’m ok thank you!!!”
Despite the incident, his visit was a success. He not only performed but took in some local activities, including bungee jumping off a bridge. He also got his hat back.
“NEW ZEALAND = GREAT SUCCESS,” he wrote.
Another baby is on the way for Jason Bourne — actor Matt Damon is expecting another child with wife Luciana Barroso.
“Everybody’s really happy,” Damon’s rep told People.
Damon and Barroso have two children together — Isabella, 4, and Gia, 20 months — as well as 11-year-old Alexia from Barroso’s previous marriage.
Proud papa Damon, who will celebrate his fifth wedding anniversary with Luciana this December, spoke in 2007 on how his life has changed since becoming a father. The actor had been more of the “Jersey Shore” ilk: sleeping, acting, working out.
After his firstborn Isabella arrived, however, “that was it for me and working out because I wanted to get home to see my daughter before she went to sleep.”
Jerry Seinfeld’s wife has won her cooking dispute.
A federal appeals court has sided with Jessica Seinfeld in her trademark dispute with another cookbook author.
Missy Chase Lapine had claimed Jessica Seinfeld copied her secrets on how to get children to eat vegetables.
The New York appeals court said Wednesday that “stockpiling vegetable purees for cover use in children’s food is an idea that cannot be copyrighted.”
Both books were published in 2007.
Seinfeld’s is called “Deceptively Delicious.” Lapine’s is titled “The Sneaky Chef.”
Messages left with lawyers on both sides were not immediately returned.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan issued its opinion just two days after hearing oral arguments in the trademark infringement dispute.
