NIWOT — Garren Estes was finally ready to make a pitching change.
And then the Broomfield coach looked up at 6-7 ace Nick Halliday and wisely changed his mind.
Or perhaps had it changed for him.
“We were going to pull him after eight (innings), but he would have taken a bat to me,” Estes said. “And Nick deserved to go back out there because it was his game.”
Halliday took the mound for the ninth inning and finished a brilliant 2-1 victory for the Eagles over Northern League rival Niwot on Wednesday.
