GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Grand Junction Police Department is investigating three of its officers after allegations that they damaged property belonging to homeless people near the Colorado River.

Police spokesman Kate Porras says the officers are on paid administrative leave pending an internal department investigation and that the Mesa County Sheriff’s office is also investigating the matter. Porras said Friday that department officials learned of the allegations this week.

No other details of what the officers are accused of were released. The officers’ names were not made public.
