Those who claim women no longer wear hats obviously didn’t attend any Kentucky Derby parties, nor turn up at a couple of high-profile Denver fundraisers. Last week’s annual Design Luncheon at the Denver Art Museum drew 165 of the city’s top female philanthropists, wearing spring suits, dresses and chic chapeaus. The next afternoon, more than 600 theater lovers showed their support of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts at the Women with Hattitude luncheon. The Seawell ballroom brimmed with headwear bedecked with enough netting, lace, flowers, feathers, beads and jewels to convince even a fashion skeptic that millinery has made a comeback. —Suzanne S.
