BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Police have arrested former a Broomfield High School wrestling coach accused of having a sexual relationship with a student during the 2008-09 school year, the same year he led the school to the Class 4A state wrestling championship.
Police and prosecutors said Wednesday that 28-year-old Travis Masse faces felony charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and sexual assault on a child that exhibited a pattern of abuse.
Masse did not return a call to his home Wednesday. He is free on a $20,000 bond. He resigned from Broomfield High in February.
Principal Ginger Ramsey said school officials couldn’t comment specifically on the case.
