DENVER—Opponents of medical marijuana regulations passed by lawmakers want Gov. Bill Ritter to veto them.

They plan to march Saturday from Civic Center Park to Governor’s Park to make their point.

Organizers say the regulations will cut off access to medical marijuana and force some dispensaries out of business. House Bill 1284 would allow cities and counties to ban dispensaries and limit private caregivers to taking care of five patients.

Dispensaries would also have to grow most of their own marijuana which could force smaller shops to close if they can’t merge with a grower.

Denver 4/20 rally organizer Miguel Lopez will be marching but says there won’t be any smoking at this event.

Ritter is expected to approve the regulations.
