CASTLE ROCK — A judge said a Colorado state trooper accused of driving drunk in his patrol car is getting inpatient treatment.

David Dolan, 48, is charged with driving under the influence and is on unpaid leave. He is free on $1,000 bail. He was due in court Monday, but the judge granted a 30-day postponement at the request of Dolan’s attorney, Michael Moran.

Moran has said the trooper suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder caused by his work on the Colorado State Patrol fatalities unit.

Moran said last month that Dolan was being treated at a mental-health and substance-abuse facility.

Dolan was arrested March 22 after several drivers called 911 to report a patrol car was being driven erratically. The Associated Press
