Drivers who use Parker Road and I-225 this weekend should be aware of lane closure that may back up traffic.

Starting at 9:30 a.m. today one lane of the ramp from northbound Parker Road to southbound I-225 will be closed, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The ramp is closed to allow crews to install a “new test traction enhancement material” on the flyover ramp, CDOT said in a media release.

Material installed in the project will allow liquid de-icer to last longer and help provide better traction.

Over the weekend, only one lane of the ramp from northbound Parker to southbound I-225 will be open and delays are expected, CDOT said. Motorists can detour north on Parker Road to Peoria Street to access southbound I-225.

The lane should be reopen at 5:30 a.m. Monday.
