Getting your player ready...
Allowing 18 hits and winning a game is no easy trick, but the Rockies pulled it off Sunday. How? Their 11 runs didn’t hurt. Neither did their five double plays, tying a franchise record. They hadn’t turned two five times since 2006.
Phillips still winning.
Paul Phillips caught and the Rockies won. No big surprise there. The Rockies are 4-0 in his four starts after winning eight of his 12 starts in 2009.
Barmes breaks out.
Clint Barmes had his second three- hit game of the season. Now for the interesting part: Both games have come on the road, where he’s hitting .225. Barmes is batting .217 at Coors Field.
