Lyle Lovett and His Large Band will represent Boulder radio show “eTown” when they take over Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 31 as part of eTown’s “Green Rocks” concert. The show, which bills itself as “the most eco-conscious event of the summer,” will be aired on 270 radio stations nationwide. Roots-blues favorite Taj Mahal is set to open. U2 postponed its North American tour, including its much-hyped June 12 date at Invesco Field at Mile High, this week due to a back injury suffered by lead singer Bono in Germany. It’s a big blow to tour promoter Live Nation, since the company signed a 12-year revenue deal for a cut of U2’s touring, merchandising and branding rights. However, rival promoter AEG Live Rocky Mountains is throwing fans a bone by offering $5 off its June 12 Denver Roller Dolls double-header at the 1stBank Center. Pitbull pushed back his “Mr. Worldwide’s Carnaval tour,” originally slated for May 25, to July 22 at the 1stBank Center “due to scheduling conflicts.” Refunds are available at the point of purchase and new tickets are on sale. ($32.50-$45, TicketHorse)

NedFest will holds its 12th annual music and arts festival in Nederland, featuring Steve Kimock Crazy Engine with Melvin Seals, Holy Kimoto, Hot Buttered Rum, Vince Herman & Great American Taxi, Cornmeal, Billy Nershi’s Blue Planet with Keith Moseley, the Motet, Chris Berry & Panjea with Michael Kang, Elephant Revival and many more. Woody Guthrie’s legacy lives on in the “Woody Guthrie Festival,” which takes over Swallow Hill Music Association on July 30 and the L2 Arts and Culture Center on July 31. The event features art, films, workshops, presentations from the Woody Guthrie Foundation & Archives and live music from Jay Farrar (of Son Volt), Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Tao Seeger, Aaron Keim and others. The Biennial of the Americas will start selling tickets to its month-long series of art exhibits, concerts, films and international speakers in Denver on Tuesday. Taking place throughout July at Civic Center’s renovated McNichols Building and other locations, the Biennial gathers artists, former heads of state and others to celebrate art and ideas from around the Western Hemisphere.
