FREMONT, Calif. — President Barack Obama said Wednesday he would work to pass energy reform legislation this year.
Speaking to an audience of employees at a solar-panel manufacturing plant, Obama called the gulf spill “just heartbreaking,” saying it “only underscores the importance of developing” other sources of energy in the United States. He said the energy reform legislation he favors would help encourage that transition from fossil fuels to solar, wind and other types of power.
