DENVER—State health officials have ended an advisory to northwest-Denver residents to boil their water before drinking it.

The advisory was issued Thursday for a roughly 1.5-square-mile area after a contractor ruptured a water line. Health officials were concerned because a loss of pressure on a water main can allow in bacteria, viruses or parasites.

Denver Water says people may notice slightly discolored water at first and low pressure. Water customers are urged to run all the faucets for three to five minutes before using the water.
