DENVER—Authorities say the man the FBI dubbed the “Super Freak” bandit because the wig he wore was reminiscent of singer Rick James’ hairstyle has been arrested on suspicion of committing five Denver-area bank robberies.
The FBI say 44-year-old Lester Eugene Fowler was arrested Friday evening at a Denver home without incident. Police say anonymous tips led to his arrest.
Authorities say Fowler is suspected of committing five bank robberies since March. He is being held at the Denver jail.
