SEATTLE — Twins second baseman Orlando Hudson received good news from tests on his surgically repaired left wrist: There’s no structural damage following Sunday’s collision with teammate Denard Span.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said Monday that the four-time Gold Glove winner had a CT scan, after initial X-rays were inconclusive. The scan showed only remnants of old injuries.

“It’s kind of a muddled mess in there from all the surgeries he’s had,” Gardenhire said.

Hudson reported increased movement in the wrist Monday, and Twins general manager Bill Smith said the team is hoping Hudson can be back in two or three days.

Phillies activate Lidge

ATLANTA — The Phillies activated right-handed closer Brad Lidge from the disabled list after he missed 18 games because of elbow stiffness.

Lidge had surgery on the elbow in January and didn’t appear in a game until April 30. But his elbow felt stiff and was told to rest it after an MRI in early May revealed no structural damage.

Pitcher Nelson Figueroa was designated for assignment.

Torrealba on restricted list

SAN DIEGO — Padres catcher Yorvit Torrealba was placed on the restricted list for personal reasons and is expected to be away from the team for at least three days.

The Padres recalled catcher Dusty Ryan from Triple-A Portland.

Posada up and running

NEW YORK — Yankees catcher Jorge Posada ran the bases and in the field before New York’s 11-2 victory over the Indians as he rehabs a broken bone in his right foot.

“(Today) is a big day. . . . If that foot feels good, he’s close,” manager Joe Girardi said.

Footnotes.

Andrew Cashner moved into the Cubs’ bullpen in place of left-hander John Grabow, who went on the DL with left knee inflammation.

• The Pirates gave up on waiting for second baseman Aki Iwamura to break out of a season-long slump, benching their highest-paid player and replacing him with former first- round draft pick Neil Walker.

• Rangers left-hander Derek Holland is likely headed to the DL because of mild inflammation in his left rotator cuff.

• Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett (right hamstring) missed his second straight game and will not start in Tampa Bay’s series against the Blue Jays.
