An elderly woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when she was struck by a car at 79th Street and Lookout Road in Gunbarrel.
The Boulder coroner today identified her as Dorothy Hoffins, 85, of Longmont.
Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Jeremy Miller said Hoffins was crossing Lookout Road from 79th Street around 3:40 p.m. when she was struck by a black Nissan Maxima heading east on Lookout.
Hoffins was trying to cross Lookout Road from 79th Street at about 3:40 p.m. to post yard sale signs on the south side of the road, according to Trooper Heather Cobler.
Hoffins was hit by 27-year-old Kathryn Wulliman of Westminster.
No charges have so far been filed against Wulliman, though the state patrol is investigating whether she was distracted, according to Cobler.
There is no stop sign on Lookout Road, and it appears that Wulliman was driving at or near the 50-mph speed limit, according to Trooper Jeremy Miller. There were no signs of drug or alcohol use.
