A company cleaning a downstairs garage with a gas-powered washer caused the evacuation of an apartment building in Boulder this afternoon.
The washer raised carbon monoxide levels in the building at 1800 Pearl St.
The apartment building was ventilated and Pearl Street was closed to traffic from 17th to 20th streets for about two hours. Residents were then allowed to return.
Fire crews were called to the apartments at about 1:30 p.m., when carbon monoxide detectors went off, according to the city.
