FORT CARSON, Colo.—Fort Carson is preparing to unveil a memorial to the nearly 2,800 people killed in the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center.

The memorial, in a grove near the post’s main gate, includes a twisted and charred steel beam from one of the twin towers. It will be unveiled Saturday.

Members of the New York Fire Department Emerald Society Pipes and Drums corps will perform.

The unveiling starts at 10 a.m. It is open to the public.
