DENVER—Republicans running for Senate in Colorado are having breakfast delivered Thursday—from senior citizens protesting their ideas on health care.
The Democratic Party says at least two dozen seniors will protest by delivering doughnut holes to the offices of Republican Senate candidates Ken Buck and Jane Norton.
The pastries represent the so-called “doughnut hole” of Medicare’s prescription drug coverage gap. The health care overhaul signed into law by President Barack Obama earlier this year sends rebates to many seniors affected by the gap.
Both Norton and Buck say the health overhaul should be repealed.
