A man who was fatally shot during an argument in Denver on Tuesday has been identified.

McConey Bronson—Lockett, 33, of Aurora, died after being shot in the upper stomach and chest, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Bronson—Lockett was shot at about 6 p.m. Tuesday at 6767 E. 39th Ave., according to the Denver Police Department.

Police said Bronson-Lockett was arguing with another man when he was shot. The victim was taken to University of Colorado Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

As investigators processed the shooting scene, at an apartment complex, a man showed up and told them he was the assailant, police said.

The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Pernell Himes. He is being held at the Denver County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder.
