Glendale Police are investigating a pipebomb found outside an apartment complex at 4695 E. Mississippi Avenue.
The discovery of the explosive device shut down traffic in the area for more than an hour and forced residents in the area to evacuate.
Police were called to the area at 9:30 this morning after a maintenance worker found the pipebomb behind some bushes outside of the apartment building.
Residents of the building and the businesses at the nearby Cherry Plaza were evacuated for about two hours while police and the Arapahoe County Bomb Squad removed the bomb.
“They said it would have caused some damage, but it wasn’t big enough to bring down a whole building,” said Victor Ross, Glendale Police chief.
No injuries were reported.
Police are still investigating, and no other information is available at this time.
