A man described as a fugitive sex offender was arrested Thursday near the intersection of Broadway and East Iowa Avenue in Denver, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a press release.
The man was identified as Frank Emmett McCoumb, 40.
Members of the U.S. Marshals-Adam Walsh Task Force had been searching for the fugitive for a couple of days when they received a tip that led them to McCoumb, said the Marshals Service.
Investigators said McCoumb was wanted by the Colorado Department of Corrections for a parole violation and by the Lakewood Police Department for failure to register as a sex offender.
McCoumb has convictions for sexual assault on a child, forgery, assault and failure to register as a sex offender, according to marshals.
Investigators said they found a shotgun and suspected drug paraphernalia in McCoumb’s motel room after his arrest.
The arrest was made by agents and officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, ICE Fugitive Operations and the Denver police and sheriff departments.
