Since Colorado’s attorney general cleared cities to start taxing medical marijuana businesses late last year, cities across the state have seen an extra shot of cash go into their ever-tightening budgets.
The city of Denver collected $1,023,308 between December and April. In March, the city collected $226,492, the highest reported collection to date.
Denver officials are quick to point out, however, that the figures represent less than 1 percent of the total sales tax collected. 9News
