LOVELAND — Commuters exiting Interstate 25 at Johnson’s Corner on Monday morning saw something new: two moose grazing by the side of the road.

Tyler Kennedy was on his way to his job as marketing director for the publishing company Solstice Arts when he saw the pair about 9:30 a.m. “I thought they were horses,” he said.

He went to his office for a camera, drove back and got about 20 yards away from the animals. “The two . . . (were) frolicking in the green field alongside our corporate headquarters.”

People started reporting the moose in the area Sunday morning, said Jennifer Churchill, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Division of Wildlife.

“The last couple years, we have had moose coming down out of the mountains. Generally, they are looking for new territory,” Churchill told the Fort Collins Coloradoan. Churchill said DOW officials are monitoring the cow and young bull. The Denver Post
