DENVER—Passengers on a Phoenix-to-Denver flight were stuck in Pueblo for hours early Saturday.
The 124 people on US Airways Flight 490 were supposed to land in Denver at about 5:40 p.m. Friday. But they had to divert the plane to Pueblo mid-flight because of bad weather in Denver.
US Airways spokesman Jim Olson says the passengers had to stay on the plane just under two hours. Then they got off the plane but had to wait at a small airport in Pueblo until about 2 a.m. Saturday. The Pueblo airport lacked equipment needed for the Airbus plane, so a smaller “ferry plane” was sent to pick them up.
Olson said the ferry plane arrived in Denver safely Saturday morning at 3:40 a.m.
