An Illinois couple in their late 70s were killed Monday morning when they rear-ended a weed-spraying truck on Interstate 70 west of Burlington, the Colorado State Patrol said.
Vernon Chute, 79, and Norma Chute, 77, of Greenville, Ill., were killed in the crash with the state highway truck that was traveling slowly to spray herbicide.
Two children in the car were airlifted to St. Anthony Central Hospital. Their names and conditions were not released. The truck driver, Michael Vance, 53, of Burlington had minor injuries.
