Lakewood police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who drowned in a hot tub Friday afternoon.
West Metro Fire and Lakewood police responded just after 3:15 p.m. to the Telluride West Apartments at 322 Wright St. for a possible drowning and found the child, who had been pulled out of a hot tub, said Cindy Matthews, a spokeswoman for West Metro Fire.
Fire crews transported her to St. Anthony Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:15 p.m.
The girl has been identified at Isatou Ceesay.
Her mother was running errands at the time and left Isatou in the care of an adult babysitter.
The babysitter was watching three other children in the pool at the same time, said Ana Brun, Lakewood police spokeswoman.
