COLORADO SPRINGS — The Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet who was injured in a June 25 parachute jump at the Air Force Academy lost his right leg above the knee and suffered a double-compound fracture in his left leg, the academy says.
The victim was Matthew Pirrello, 20, of Centerville, Ohio. The Ohio University sophomore was attending a summer parachuting program.
