JERUSALEM — A Libyan ship seeking to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip seemed to have shifted course late Tuesday with the intention of docking at an Egyptian port after Israel issued a warning and Egypt gave it permission to land there, apparently defusing a potential confrontation at sea, Egyptian and Israeli officials said.

Israeli officials said the ship’s captain was told not to sail into Israeli-controlled waters. Israeli naval vessels tailed the boat, they added.

An official at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in Cairo said all humanitarian aid arriving in Egypt would be delivered according to Egypt’s policy, which allows only medical supplies into Gaza.
