Denver was ready for Rihanna, but was Rihanna ready for Denver?
Apparently not. With little fanfare, Rihanna has canceled the Denver date of her “Last Girl on Earth” tour. The R&B diva was to play Comfort Dental Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village on Thursday, but there is no longer any sign of that show on the singer’s website or , where tickets were being sold.
A Live Nation representative confirmed that Rihanna’s Denver date has been canceled — not postponed, so it’s not being rescheduled. Refunds are available at point of purchase for ticketholders.
Meanwhile, after postponing several North American tour dates to allow lead singer Bono, right, to recuperate from a back injury, Irish rock band U2 is back on the road in May and June, kicking off its reconfigured road show in Denver. U2 will bring its “360 Tour” to Invesco Field at Mile High on May 21 — a makeup date for the band’s postponed June 12 gig. Tickets for the June date will be honored. Refunds are available at point of purchase for those who can’t make the new date. Ricardo Baca, The Denver Post
