COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A couple accused in the death of a 9-year-old girl whose body was found in a vacant home has agreed to be extradited to Colorado after they were arrested in Nevada.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s office says the couple’s decision this week doesn’t mean they’ll be immediately back in Colorado. Hanif Sims and his girlfriend, Monique Lynch face charges of child abuse resulting in death. They were arrested last week in Henderson, Nev.
Investigators had been looking for the couple since the body of Sims’ daughter, 9-year-old Genesis, was found May 14 in the crawl space of a town home in Monument, about 50 miles south of Denver. The cause of death hasn’t been determined.
